| Scientific illustration entails the meeting of the two separate systems –
1) Meticulousness and accurateness of the science.
2) Depiction of the artistic element and formation of an image.
Scientific Illustration is an extensive field for an ingenious activity, ranging from the artistic qualititative mixed-media drawings visualizing conceptions of the directly available or non-reachable natural world to the quantitative, highly technical plotting of the numerical data.
Two streams of biological and medical illustration are jointly recognized as a Scientific Illustration. Exclusively for the purpose of scientific education, it uses artwork as a visual tool of communication.
Since scientific material is interpreted with the intention of digging out the information, it should put the information across as fast as possible. Hence, this is to say that illustrations are the best way to present the scientific information as use of an illustration makes the things appear more clearly unlike words.
Illustrations for scientific material are poles apart from the illustrations for nonscientific material, in that they must express the information and need to be precise and has to be aesthetically pleasing. There should be an accurate depiction of the object but bear one thing in a mind that aesthetics should never come in a way of the accuracy of the scientific illustration. |
