| The word journal has been derived from a French word known as a "day." Hence, a journal means maintaining a daily record of your thoughts and experiences on different subject matters.
Journal writing is all about sharing your thoughts and feeling, day happening, as in: What happen in the course of the day, about life events and much more. Keeping the steady journal entries/daily account makes the reading of the journal in future quite pleasurable.
One should be regular in doing journal writing. One should formulate journal writing in such a way that they can’t end their day without inscribing their day experience and say “Old Habit Dies Hard”.
Planning to write journal on a fix time is often a good idea and hence specific time should be scheduled. Such as: One can chalk-about their day happening after going off to sleep, or after having breakfast, or during noon time or dusk time, i.e. in evening. If it is highly unlikely for you, you can plan one particular day, say: Sunday when you can carve your whole episode of a week.
While going through the Journal, if you do not want to strain & tax your brain, provide all the bullets of information, such as: Name, date and place. Besides this, do leave one page for Index, so you can easily go to that particular page and recall your memory.
While writing on the matters that are taking place in your life, don’t forget to write about the emotions that you have felt during that span of time as this would make you feel lively in those moments. Thus, do mention those feelings that you have travelled through destination of emotions.
One should certainly write those moments which have made them laugh. Such as: knock-knock/wisecrack jokes, conceits etc. and should bookmark them. When in a foul mood, one should go through it as this will consequently, dilute their stress level to an extent.
Writing your thoughts and feelings will acts as a catharsis for your pent up feelings which you have been or is not able to express. All this will as a result help you in increasing your emotional quotient (EQ).
Hence, maintaining of a Journal helps individual to analyze their life and give new meaning to it. Your Journal is your treasure house of the memories which provides permanency touch to the happenings which occurred in your life.
